Don C. Armor, 60, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Warrensburg, Mo., passed away Jan. 18, 2020 at his family’s home in Poplar Bluff surrounded by his family and friends.
Don was born on May 31, 1959 to the late Harvey (Jack) and Dorothy (Flannery) Armor in Flint, Mich.
Don earned his Master’s Degree from Arkansas Sate University. He was employed with the state of Missouri Division of Social Services. His co-workers, church members and friends were his Warrensburg family.
He had previously been a school teacher for the Poplar Bluff Public Schools. As a teenager he was a member of DeMolay. He was a member and served the Lord at Fellowship Church in Poplar Bluff, serving as church clerk for many years.
In Warrensburg, Mo., he worshiped at the First United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and attended the Alders gate class.
Don loved visiting Scooters Coffee shop in Warrensburg to enjoy coffee with the college students he called his kids.
He was an avid bridge and card player, enjoyed baking cakes, pies and desserts for his co-workers and friends. Don loved to travel and enjoyed most of all singing in the church choir.
Don is survived by brother, Jack Armor; sister-in-law Edith Armor; two nieces, Heather Spencer (Charles), and Tracy Carlton (Robert), two great-nieces, and three great-nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to express their thankfulness for Don’s co-workers and church friends in Warrensburg who helped in countless ways, from sending cards and bringing food to helping move his belongings and, to his church family in Poplar Bluff for all the cards, calls and prayers.
The family would also like to express our gratefulness to the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) for their kind care and Godly witness.
Visitation will be held from 6 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2020 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, MO.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 in the Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Peter Norton and Rev. Byron Beck officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
