The last day to file for school boards wrapped up with 22 candidates between four boards.
Three of the four schools have contested races. All four boards have three open seats.
Neelyville R-IV
In the last week of filing, Neelyville R-IV has seen an influx of candidates filing.
There are three open seats, which Dean Fisher, Paul Petty and Shane Eaker hold.
At the Jan. 13 board meeting, only two candidates had filed: Derek Emmons and Zach Shipman.
Since then, eight more filed.
The three incumbents will run for re-election. Justin Beaird, Bobby Burgett, Chuck Reinbott, Terry Wilkerson and Sharon Reece will join them on the ballot.
Poplar Bluff R-I
For Poplar Bluff, President John Scott, board member Jerrod Murphy and board member Alana Robertson hold the open seats.
All three incumbents have filed, along with former teacher Tim Gaebbler.
Three Rivers College
Two seats from sub-district one will be open for six-year terms at TRC. Trustee Eric Schalk and current treasurer Chris Williams hold the seats. There is also an open seat in sub-district two for four years, to complete that current term.
Schalk and Williams have both filed for re-election for sub-district one.
Citizen Larry Kimbrow previously filed, but withdrew from the race.
Dr. Tim Hager, current chairman, filed for the sub-district two seat, which he holds.
The seat will also be up for re-election in 2024, when it will return to the normal six-year term.
Twin Rivers R-X
Twin Rivers R-X will have a five-way race for three open seats.
Board President Billy Watson, David Dugger and Roger Baxter hold the seats.
Watson filed to re-election and former board president Jeff Arnold is running.
Citizens Karen Buttrey, Bobby King and Josh Johnson will join them on the ballot.
