The University of Missouri Extension Council of Butler County will elect eight people to each serve a two-year term.

County Engagement Specialist Stephanie Milner explained, the eight will be selected from 17 candidates who have filed for the positions. Voting continues through Jan. 31.

Council members are volunteers responsible for maintaining the extension center at 614 Lindsay Ave., Suite 3, and for planning programs with the professional and paraprofessional faculty and staff in Butler County, Milner said.

The council is organizing the annual Ag Expo with the Ag Club of Three Rivers College. The Ag Expo will be held Jan. 31 - Feb. 1.

According to Extension Council Chair Pam Sullivan, county and regional specialists and paraprofessionals for the University of Missouri System provide educational programs to Butler County citizens in several areas. Programs are available in the fields of agriculture, family and consumer sciences, 4-H youth development, family and community education clubs, and food and nutrition programs for youth and low-income families.

Butler County voters may select any eight of the nominees listed. The ballot accompanying the article may be used and mailed or taken to the extension center. There also will be an opportunity for voters to cast ballots at the University of Missouri Extension booth during the Ag Expo Friday, Jan. 31, at the Black River Coliseum. Lanny Corcimiglia
Lanny Corcimiglia

• Lanny Corcimiglia is the new Parks and Recreation director in Poplar Bluff. He graduated from Poplar Bluff High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwest Baptist University, where he studied sports management and recreation. Corcimiglia lives in Poplar Bluff with Bree Savat and their five children. He is a current member of the Poplar Bluff Elks Lodge, Three Rivers Citizens Advisory Board and Fellowship General Baptist Church. Corcimiglia has coached baseball, soccer and basketball. He has refereed junior high and high school football for the past 23 years and junior high and senior high volleyball for the past seven years.

Travis Gowen
Travis Gowen

• Travis Gowen is the branch manager for Ozark Federal Credit Union. Gowen has been a member of the Masonic Lodge since 2009, and is a member of the Shriner’s. He does media and sound for the First United Methodist Church, and is a youth leader at the church. He helps the board at the Rodgers Theatre. Other activities include the PB Christian Soccer Camp and referee for PB OSL and coach for OSL Travel Soccer.

John McCammon
John McCammon

• John McCammon Jr. just entered his final semester at Three Rivers College. His activities and interests are geared toward whatever his daughters are interested in. Over the summer, he was an assistant coach with softball and volunteered at camp with 4-H. He also has volunteered to lead the Steppin’ Up 4-H Club.

Jennifer Williams
Jennifer Williams

• Jennifer Williams is an attorney. She is a member of Westwood Baptist Church and a speaker and presenter for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren. Williams was a speaker and presenter for the Women Aware Conference in 2014 and 2016. She has been a contract legal services provider for Legal Services of Southern Missouri since 2012. Williams has been a contract legal services provider for juvenile courts since 2012. She is currently the secretary of the Butler County Extension Council.

Jo Schalk
Jo Schalk

• Jo Schalk is a student at TRC. She is active in 4-H and the Solid Rock Puppet Ministry at New Home General Baptist Church. She also is in TRC Symphony and Jazz Band.

Ed Flanigan
Ed Flanigan

• Eddie Flanigan is from Qulin and is active in the community. He organized the Royal Riders 4-H club with 40 plus members and serves as an officer on the Butler County 4-H Council. He also serves on the Qulin Senior Citizens Nutrition Board. He is married to retired extension specialist Phyllis Flanigan and is very active in Extension programs, such as Ag Expo. They have two children and two grandchildren. His hobbies include 4-H, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

Cherie Cook

• Cherie Cook is a member service supervisor at Ozark Border Electric Cooperative. She is also a member of New Covenant Fellowship Church and the Gideon’s Ladies Auxiliary.

Jane Arnold
Jane Arnold

• Jane Arnold is a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She is a member of Master Gardener’s and the Poplar Bluff Garden Club. She is in the FCE Fun Club. Arnold enjoys gardening and canning. She is currently the treasurer of the Butler County Extension Council.

Chris Adams
Chris Adams

• Chris Adams is the director of enrollment services and student development at Three Rivers College. He is also on various TRC committees.

Corey Kudrna
Corey Kudrna

• Corey Kudrna is the assistant refuge manager at Mingo National Wildlife Refuge. The outdoors and rural lifestyle are a major part, both professionally and personally to him. He has lived in Butler County since he joined the staff at Mingo in 2015. He currently participates with Black River Quail Forever and Ducks Unlimited banquet committees. He introduces youth to the outdoors, leading field trips and is a certified Missouri Hunter Education instructor. He enjoys hunting, fishing, gardening and foraging for mushrooms and berries.

Sue Crites Szostak
Sue Crites Szostak

• Sue Crites Szostak is the director of the Poplar Bluff Municipal Library. She is active in Kiwanis, Monday Literary Club and R.E.O. Szostak attends Palace of Praise. She is a member of the Missouri Library Association, Missouri Public Library Directors and Missouri Evergreen Board of Directors. She is a mother and the wife of Joseph A. Szostak.

Kathryn Clark
Kathryn Clark

• Kathryn Clark is an agriculture teacher at Poplar Bluff High School. She is a FFA advisor and Poplar Bluff R-1 School District ambassador. She is a member of Sacred Heart Church, and a proud member of a third generation farm family. Clark’s hobbies include gardening, traveling and spending time with her two boys and husband.

Zach McAnulty
Zach McAnulty

• Zach McAnulty is an outreach specialist. He serves at Heartland Christian Family Church as an associate pastor. McAnulty oversees a Student Leadership Program in Poplar Bluff High School and Doniphan High School. He is a content creator, songwriter, musician and itinerant speaker. McAnulty is a former assistant coach in football, basketball and track for Poplar Bluff High School and Poplar Bluff Junior High School.

Mary Provance
Mary Provance

• Mary Provance is a teacher. She is active in downtown development. Provance works with middle school afterschool classes (STEM), writing and home economics.

Jerrica Fox

• Jerrica Fox is the executive director for Downtown Poplar Bluff, Inc. She is a lifelong Poplar Bluff resident and has a Bachelor of Science in finance and banking from Arkansas State University. She is a member and previous parish council representative of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and a member of St. Anne’s Society. Fox previously served as a Poplar Bluff City Council member, at-large. She is a board member for the Black River Coliseum Advisory Board.

• Jane Hansmann in a retired radiologic technologist with an Associate of Arts from TRC. She is an active member of the United Methodist Church, serves as a Margaret Harwell Art Museum docent and on the Poplar Bluff Historic Depot Restoration Committee. She has been an active Poplar Bluff Master Gardener for over 10 years, volunteering her help for Ag Expo and other extension projects. She also does several projects with the Poplar Bluff Garden Club, where she has been a long time member.

J.L. Kimbrow
J.L. Kimbrow

• James “Larry” Kimbrow grew up in the Broseley area. He was a member of the local 4-H club and attended the 4-H camp in Wappapello. Kimbrow is a U.S. Navy veteran and retired in September 1996 as a lieutenant commander. During his military career, he won many awards and decorations. Kimbrow earned a Bachelor of Science in Science degree in professional aeronautics, a Master of Science degree in operations management and a Doctorate of Education in higher education leadership. In 2005, Kimbrow was promoted to TRC executive vice president and vice president of academic affairs. He retired from TRC in 2009. As a member of the Butler County Extension Council, he wants to provide his extensive management and leadership experiences to help improve existing programs and help identify and develop newer programs to assist with the county’s families, children and businesses, including farmers.
