City firefighters responded to 1010 Adam Street at 4:22 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, to reports of a smoke detector going off.
According to the report, the alarm company was contacted before they arrived at the residence where they were told the owner, Mary Champion, had been cooking and set off the alarm. There was no smoke visible in the residence.

City firefighters responded to 1471 N. Westwood Blvd. at 12:38 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, to reports of a motor vehicle accident with injuries.
According to the report, no extrication was needed. They assisted EMA with loading one person from each of the two vehicles involved into an ambulance and helped clean the roadway.
