Geraldine Riggins 77 of Poplar Bluff was called home by God at 1:05 p.m. on Dec. 2, 2019 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Riggins, the daughter of the late Ira and Martha (Vaughn) Hardin, was born Aug. 15, 1942 in Graves County, Ky. She was a faithful member of Cornerstone Tabernacle Church and was a Licensed Practical Nurse. Mrs. Riggins enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, nursing and sewing. She had a great love for God and her church family. Geraldine was lovingly described by her entire family as a fantastic daughter, sister, wife and the best mother and grandmother a child could have.
Mrs. Riggins was married to Lawrence William Helton he preceded her in death Aug. 9, 1986. In 1989, she married William Riggins. He survives.
Other survivors include five children, Marsha Moore (Brit), Daniel Helton both of Poplar Bluff, Gary Helton (Tina) of Holly, Mich., Brenda Morris (Denver) of St. Louis and James Andrews (Cookie Baby) of Poplar Bluff; six grandchildren, Amber Helton, Douglas Lovette, Lauren Marler, Joshua Moore, Zachary Moore and Brittany Moore Osorio; eleven great-grandchildren; and a brother J.C. Hardin of Ortonville, MI.
She was preceded in death by her brother Richard Hardin and her sister, Betty Sue Babb.
The visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6 at Cornerstone Tabernacle Church with the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Stephen Burns officiating. Burial will be at Old Oak Hill Cemetery in Butler County.
