DONIPHAN — Dennis Eugene “Teddy” Emmons, 71-year-old resident of Doniphan, departed this life Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. Dennis was born Jan. 5, 1948 to the late J. W. ‘Junior’ and Doris (Davis) Emmons in Doniphan.
Mr. Emmons was a heavy equipment operator and over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed deer hunting and the outdoors. One of his favorite activities was feeding catfish in his ponds. Dennis served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his special friend and life partner, Phyllis Egland; one son, Dennis Emmons, Jr., of St. Louis and a sister, Debbie (Jerry) Cole of Doniphan. Also surviving are several stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, and many friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by one son, Brad Emmons.
A graveside service for Mr. Emmons will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18 at Belleview Cemetery with Brother Pete Joplin officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bellview Cemetery.
