Cheyanna L. Wheetley, 23, who listed multiple Poplar Bluff addresses, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, near the intersection of Nooney and Valley streets on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine. She was transported to the police station and later was released.

Jim Duckett, owner of Hardees at 101 S. Westwood Blvd. reported at 9:48 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, that over the last several weeks, frozen food had been stolen from an outside freezer unit. The value of the food was estimated to be at least $1,000.

Paul Presley of the 700 block of County Road 574 reported at 5:34 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, that he returned home to find two dogs running out of his chicken coop. Upon entering the structure, Presley found 26 chickens, valued at $260, had been killed.

POPLAR BLUFF CITY FIRE
City firefighters responded to an alarm at 5:42 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at the 947 Lester St. home owned by Victor Medina and occupied by James Medina and Joey Divinney. Upon their arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke and fire coming from a bedroom and entering the building’s attic.
With a call-back of a second shift, firefighters used 4,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire and used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots. A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear smoke, and both Spire Gas and Municipal Utilities responded to the scene.
