Two Ripley County residents were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, on U.S. 160, one-half mile west of County Road 160W-17.

According to the report, James S. Clayton, 27, of Doniphan was operating an eastbound 2004 Jeep Liberty, which was stopping for a cow in the road, and was struck in the rear by a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan being driven by Daniel L. Price, 52, of Alton.

Clayton and his 26-year-old passenger, Deborah L. Coates of Gatewood, suffered minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Jeffery Scott Winters, 37, of Oxly was arrested at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, in the 300 block of North 10th Street on suspicion of first-degree trespassing. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

William Heath Smith, 47, no address listed, was arrested at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, in the 2100 block of Summit on a municipal failure to appear warrant for second-degree trespassing. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Brenda L. Sanders of the 1100 block of Spring Street reported Monday, Nov. 4, that a 15-foot flat-bed trailer had been stolen from a location in the 400 block of Valley Street sometime during the prior three days.

Brandy M. Shipp of the 1900 block of County Road 482 reported Wednesday, Nov. 6, that a window was broken out of her vehicle while it was parked at the Mark Twain Caring Center on May Street.

Buffy E. Porch of the 400 block of North B Street reported Monday, Nov. 4, that her unlocked 1997 Ford Mustang was entered between 5 and 7 a.m. while it was parked at The Manor in the 2200 block of Barron Road.

According to the report, Porch’s purse and a bag of clothing were stolen. Among the items in Porch’s purse were bank cards, identification and money.

Julie Ann Lutes reported Tuesday, Nov. 5, that her 1998 GMC pickup was entered sometime during the prior night while it was parked at The Office Bar and Grill in the 400 block of Maple Street.

According to the report, several bags containing personal items, such as makeup and toiletries, were stolen. Also stole were over-the-counter medications, multiple flashlights and prescription eyeglasses.

Robert Charles Blaise reported at about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, that the back glass was broken out of a truck, owned by West Properties, while it was parked in the 1500 block of North Main Street.
