The Poplar Bluff High School SHO-ME Marching Band earned honors last weekend at the Southeast Missouri Band Association Marching Competition in Sikeston.
In the Class 5 Division, SHO-ME Band drum majors, Kaylee Merrick, Alyssa Brown and Layton Sanders were awarded Outstanding Field Command and the band earned second place overall in the Class 5 Division field show competition with their performance of, “Double Agent.”
Other area bands earning trophies at the Sikeston competition were: Class 2 Division, Outstanding Music award - Puxico High School; Outstanding Marching award - Puxico High School; Outstanding Auxiliary - Puxico High School; Class 2 Division second place overall - Malden High School and Class 2 Division first place overall - Puxico High School; Class 3 Division second place overall went to Dexter High School.
The SHO-ME Band will compete in its last competition of the season Saturday, at the Rebel Invitational Marching Band Festival in Park Hills, Mo.
