City firefighters responded at 3:39 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, to a report of smoke at the 2005 Alice St., residence occupied by James Pierson and owned by Vickey Minehart.
According to the report, firefighters smelled what appeared to be a skunk upon entering the home.
Firefighters used the department’s thermal-imaging camera to check the home, including the attic, but nothing was found to be hot.
Firefighters installed a smoke detector since the home did not have a working one.

City firefighters responded at 9:48 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, to an alarm at Shady Oaks Residential Care, 2913 Bedoll Ave. It was investigation only.

City firefighters responded at 8:10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, to a report of an odor of dust burning in a furnace at the dispatch center at Three Rivers College, 2080 Three Rivers Blvd.
Firefighters checked the building with the department’s thermal-imaging camera, but nothing was found.

City firefighters responded at 4:50 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, to a report of an unauthorized burn at the 1002 Grand Ave. residence owned and occupied by Terraine Foulk.
According to the report, firefighters found a burn barrel smoking in the back yard.
Foulk reported a garden hose was being burned.
Firefighters removed the hose, and Foulk put out the fire with a garden hose.
Firefighters reportedly told Foulk about the city’s burn ordinance.
