A total of 16 Poplar Bluff High School music students were named to the All-District Choir on Saturday, Sept. 28, during a regional audition in Cape Girardeau.
At the audition, each student prepared and performed an art song before a panel of judges and sight-read, which involves singing a piece of music that the high schooler has not seen before, requiring a “high level of musicianship,” reported Joshua Allen, PBHS director of vocal music.
The ninth and 10th grade All-District Choir will include Emma Harris in the soprano section; Lexy Rowland and Emma Tinsley as altos; Bralin Duckett, Brent Hanley, Christian Redding and Isaac Reid as tenors; and Dawson Vaughan in bass. The 11th and 12th grade All-District Choir will include Kerrigan Moore and Lauren Robertson as sopranos; Eva Bedell and Allison Knowlton as altos; Ross Dare and Jayvon Holloway-Allen as tenors; and Michael Joseph and Aaron Taylor in the bass section.
The All-District concert is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Cape Central High School.
