City firefighters responded at 5:02 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, to a report of a fire at the 2535 Lee St. home owned by Kyle Pridy and occupied by Tim Lipsey. The occupant reported putting out a fire in the kitchen, and when firefighters arrived, they used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots. They also used a positive pressure fan to ventilate the home.

City firefighters responded at 9:34 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, to a report of smoke in the area of South 11th Street and Highway 53. Upon their arrival, firefighters found an unauthorized burn at a vacant home on Delano Street. Ten gallons of water were used to extinguish the fire.

County firefighters responded at 6:27 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, to a report of a vehicle fire on Highway 60, just east of Highway 67. Upon their arrival, firefighters found a Jeep Grand Cherokee, owned by Jeffrey Hampton, with its engine compartment on fire.
