City firefighters responded at 10:55 p.m. and 5:38 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, to alarms at the Gates Rubber Company, 1650 Rowe Parkway. It was investigation only each time.

City firefighters responded at 5:08 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, to a report of smoke at the 1108 Tremont St. residence occupied by Anthony Woodard.
According to the report, firefighters found smoke coming from the attic, and Woodard told firefighters he had shut off the main breaker.
Firefighters entered the attic and found two hot spots where the insulation was burning due to an electrical wire shorting out.
Firefighters used what was described as a water extinguisher to put out the hot spots and them removed the insulation that was burning.
A positive-pressure-ventilation fan was set up to remove the smoke from the attic.

City firefighters responded at 12:07 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, to a motor-vehicle crash at 2233 N. Westwood Blvd.
According to the report, firefighters checked for injuries and assisted emergency-medical-services personnel with patient care.
Firefighters stood by until the vehicles were removed and used an absorbent on a small fluid leak on the road.
