Camp Allen, located on a beautiful 70 acres along Highway F southeast of Greenville since 1954, will celebrate its 65th anniversary with a special program at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14.
Throughout its ministry, this camp has blessed thousands of youth and adult campers whose lives have been changed by the teachings of Jesus. Many have accepted Christ as their Savior at Camp Allen and made lasting friendships with other campers and staff, according to staff.
Stephanie Black Morgan, a former Poplar Bluff resident, will be the featured speaker. Now living in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, she continues to be active in the camp’s ministry.
There also will be two skits featuring former campers. Jonathan Rice, serving his fifth year as camp administrator, will give a report on the 2019 camping season.
“Please come for stories, songs, fun, a very nice meal, a few surprises and a whole lot of memories,” Rice said.
The one-hour program will conclude with an offering to support the camp’s general fund.
Everyone is invited to the dinner in the dining hall. Reservations must be made by Sept. 10 by calling 573-224-3826 or emailing campallen1954@gmail.com.
Former campers, dorm moms and dads, cooks, musicians, preachers, administrators, other staff and many friends of the General Baptist camp are expected to attend.
