City firefighters responded at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, to an alarm at 639 S. Westwood Blvd. It was investigation only.

City firefighters responded at 3:47 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, to a report of a fire with smoke and flames showing at 3051 N. Westwood Blvd.
According to the report, firefighters entered a gated area and found light smoke coming from the upper level of an outside, vacant lumber storage area.
Firefighters subsequently found a smoldering fire on the floor near a back wall and used a water-type extinguisher to put out the smoldering plywood.
A detective with the police department’s Criminal Investigation Division was called in to investigate the fire’s cause.
