DONIPHAN — A Poplar Bluff man is facing multiple charges of burglary and stealing following his arrest by the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department.
Dylan R. Pigg, 27, was scheduled to appear Wednesday for a preliminary hearing in Ripley County Circuit Court. He is charged with three felony counts of second-degree burglary, three counts of felony stealing and three counts of misdemeanor stealing.
The charges stem from multiple burglaries reported between late March and early May at river cabins south of Doniphan on County Road 142E-2, according to the sheriff’s department.
Pigg was arrested by deputies May 5 near the area in a pickup truck. Several items found in the truck later were identified as having been taken from two of the cabins.
According to a probable cause statement filed with the court by the sheriff’s department, deputies were contacted on the evening of May 4 by a Kennett man who owns a cabin on County Road 142E-2.
The man said he had observed on a surveillance camera app on his phone, video of a gray truck driving past his cabin and a man walking around his property.
A deputy responding to the call reported locating a man driving a pickup on County Road 142E-2 matching the description provided by the property owner.
The driver was identified as Dylan Pigg. Several items found in the back of the pickup were identified as having been stolen from two cabins.
The truck was towed to the sheriff’s department.
Pigg was booked at the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $25,000 cash-only bond.
According to court records, Pigg also currently is charged with one count of second-degree burglary and felony stealing in Butler County from actions that allegedly occurred in early April.
