City firefighters responded at 6:45 a.m. Thursday, April 11, to a report of smoke in the area of Park Avenue and South Eighth Street.
According to the report, firefighters found an unauthorized burn behind 703 S. Eighth St. and used 15 gallons of water to put out the fire.

City firefighters responded at 10:58 a.m. Thursday, April 11, to a motor-vehicle crash at the intersection of North Westwood Boulevard and Katy Lane.
According to the report, firefighters used an absorbent to clean off the road.

City firefighters responded at 4:01 p.m. Thursday, April 11, to a report of smoke coming from behind the church at Eighth and Cedar streets.
According to the report, firefighters found an unauthorized burn behind the 821 Cedar St. residence occupied by Patrick Kirshna.
Firefighters told Kirshna about the city’s burn ordinance and used 25 gallons of water to put out the fire.

City firefighters responded at 1:13 p.m. Thursday, April 11, to a report of a structure fir at the 708 Hart St. residence owned by Sandy Johns.
According to the report, firefighters found smoke coming from the rear of the one-story wood frame home.
During a walk around of the home, firefighters found a small fire burning on the exterior of the home on a small concrete pad. Firefighters used about 10 gallons of water to put out the fire.
Firefighters reportedly pulled siding to check for fire extension and also checked for fire extension in the home. None reportedly was found.
The house was aired out to remove smoke from its interior.

County firefighters responded at 6:56 p.m. Thursday, April 11, to a woods fire in the 500 block of County Road 472.
According to the report, a tree fell on a power line and caused the fire.
