City firefighters responded at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, to a report of an unauthorized burn on Morrison Road. According to the report, firefighters saw a large amount of black smoke coming from the area as they were en route. Upon their arrival, firefighters found a very large fire consisting of trash and rubbish on fire behind 3105 Morrison Road and underneath a large set of power lines...

City firefighters responded at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, to a report of an unauthorized burn on Morrison Road.

According to the report, firefighters saw a large amount of black smoke coming from the area as they were en route.

Upon their arrival, firefighters found a very large fire consisting of trash and rubbish on fire behind 3105 Morrison Road and underneath a large set of power lines.

Municipal Utilities was contacted to check on the power lines, and firefighters used 2,000 gallons of water to put out the fire.

City firefighters responded at 9:37 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, to a report of an unauthorized burn that was getting out of control at the 326 Davis St. residence occupied by Carl Rennet.

According to the report, firefighters found Rennet had a brush fire burning in his backyard. The fire reportedly was not out of control, and Rennet had a rake and water hose at hand.

Firefighters told Rennet to have the fire out by dark.

County firefighters responded at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, to a grass fire at 2516 Highway 53.

According to the report, a small area burned.

County firefighters responded at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, to a woods fire at 343 County Road 457.

According to the report, about two acres, owned by Ethan Cosby, burned.

County firefighters responded at 7:52 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, for a high-angle rescue at 2199 County Road 608.

According to the report, a person was stuck in a bucket truck, and firefighters, with the assistance of Ozark Border Electric Cooperative employees, got the person down.
