City firefighters responded at 2:17 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, to a report of an unauthorized burn at the 806 Emma St. residence owned and occupied by Mary Carson.

According to the report, firefighters found Carson’s grandson burning coating off metal items to prepare for recycling. The fire reportedly was out.

When firefighters contacted Carson’s grandson, he reported he was cleaning up a pile.

Firefighters reportedly requested police and code enforcement officers respond due to the repeated calls to the residence. Carson’s grandson allegedly quickly left the area on his bicycle.

City firefighters responded at 7:49 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, to a report of an unresponsive person behind a locked door in a restroom at Briggs & Stratton, 731 Highway 142.

According to the report, firefighters arrived to find company personnel had gained access to the person in the stall. The person was awake and talking to a police officer on the scene.

The person reportedly was moved to a wheelchair and to the front lobby to await emergency-medical-services personnel. The person was turned over to EMS for care.
