Volunteers are spending the first half of this week dipping more than 2,000 strawberries and making other Valentine’s Day treats to help Kami Spradling, 7, her brother Mack, 5, and their family raise $10,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. While some items are now sold out, orders are still being taken for chocolate dipped strawberries, cookies and cake bites.

Orders can be placed at http://www.mackandkamisberries.org. Mother Kelly Shearrer Spradling can also be reached at 573-429-2824.

Kami, who started the project last year, wants to raise $10,000 to help children get better. The little girl, her family and volunteers raised more than $3,000 for the hospital in 2018.

This year, the little girl asked to bring her brother, Mack, 5, on board, and set their goal even higher.

Orders are still being taken for chocolate-dipped strawberries, cake bites and cookies. The family is now sold out of the Valentine's Crunch and Valentine popcorn. Prices for cookies are $10. Strawberries and cake bites are $16.

Orders over $60 can be delivered in Poplar Bluff on Valentine's Day. Delivery can also be made to schools for orders for children, Shearrer Spradling said.
