Butler County retired teachers to meet Feb. 20

The Butler County Retired Teachers group is scheduled to meet at 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 20, in the Missouri Room at the Poplar Bluff school administration building. The Missouri Room is located next to the Mules Cafe on Harper Street. Sheri Kennedy and Nicky Villasana from The Learning Lab will be on hand to highlight the successes they have had utilizing a “New Way to Teach Reading”. Members will share information from the Blitz Day in Jefferson City and other information from MRTA to help us preserve retirement benefits and to stay safe. Members will also discuss the college scholarship which will be awarded to an area high school senior who plans to pursue a degree in education.

All retired teachers and other retired school personnel in the area are invited to attend. Door prizes will also be awarded.
