POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Clarence (Eli) Burpo of Poplar Bluff departed this life for another on Feb. 6, 2019 with his sister at his side. He was born in Glenndale, Az., Sept. 26, 1955, the son of the late Betty Jo Burpo and Ray P. Burpo. He was a laborer before becoming disabled. He loved to go hunting and fishing and he enjoyed working on whatever he could and helping others...

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — Clarence (Eli) Burpo of Poplar Bluff departed this life for another on Feb. 6, 2019 with his sister at his side.

He was born in Glenndale, Az., Sept. 26, 1955, the son of the late Betty Jo Burpo and Ray P. Burpo.

He was a laborer before becoming disabled. He loved to go hunting and fishing and he enjoyed working on whatever he could and helping others.

He is survived by one daughter: Sheena McRoy (Sam) of Colorado; one son: Clarence E. Burpo Jr.; five grandchildren: Charles Ethan Gillum, Shelbey Kay Gillum, Chelsey May Gillum, Heaven Leigh Burpo and Cameron Joseph Burpo; two brothers: Virgil Burpo (Jeanette) and Daniel Burpo; three sisters: Edna Hillis (Steve), Donna Boen (Walter) and Betty Goughnour; and many nieces and nephews.

One sister proceeded him in death, Cozzie Thurlkill.

He had many friends at The Manor. He enjoyed life and had a big heart.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
