WAPPAPELLO, Mo. ­— Joseph Wayne Courtois, 80, of Wappapello, Mo., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019. He passed away peacefully while surrounded by the love of his family.

Wayne loved and was loved by many special friends too numerous to mention. “The Ridge” will never be the same.

He is survived by his wife, Lois, a daughter, and an adopted son; and three grandchildren.

A social gathering of family and friends will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30 at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, 8172 Highway T, in Wappapello, with the services following. The Rev. Matt Wilkins, the Rev. Rudy Pittman and Mr. Jason Smith will officiate. Interment with full military honors will follow at 1 p.m. at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield. A farewell party will immediately follow the graveside service at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Wappapello. All family and friends are welcome.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
