City firefighters responded at 10:17 a.m. Friday to a report of a fire on the porch of 1207 Maud St. residence occupied by Marla Andrews. It was investigation only.
According to the report, firefighters arrived to find a cardboard box smoldering in the front yard.
Andrews reported she had dropped a cigarette in the box, and it caught fire. She reportedly swept the box onto the front lawn and put out the fire.

City firefighters responded at 2:45 p.m. Friday to a report of a dumpster fire behind 101 S. Main St.
According to the report, firefighters found an unauthorized burn involved unknown person(s) burning the coating off copper wiring in the city package garage and leaving it there to burn.
Firefighters used 10 gallons of water to put out the fire.

City firefighters responded at 11:24 a.m. Friday to a report of smoke in the Munch-n-Pump, 664 Highway 142.
According to the report, firefighters found nothing showing upon their arrival, but detected smoke in the business.
Firefighters began checking the outside units and subsequently turned the scene over to the Butler County Fire Department as the location of the fire was in the county.

County firefighters responded at 11:23 a.m. Friday to a report of smoke in the at the Munch-n-Pump, 644 Highway 142.
According to the report, the smoke was caused by the furnace motor.

According to the report, the fire was found in the attic and caused minimal damage to the home, owned by Marshall Young Jr.
