Reba C. Crofford, 95, former resident of Poplar Bluff, passed away on Monday, Oct. 22, 2018 in Marietta, Ga. She was born Aug. 31, 1923 in Pollard, Ark. to Lemuel L. and Mary Davis Simpson. Reba C. Crofford, 95, former resident of Poplar Bluff, passed away on Monday, Oct. 22, 2018 in Marietta, Ga.

She was born Aug. 31, 1923 in Pollard, Ark. to Lemuel L. and Mary Davis Simpson. She was a graduate of Piggott High School in 1941. In 1942 she married Doyle A. Watson and two children were born from this union: Mary Alleyne Essary and Charles Allen Watson.

She is survived by her daughter, Alleyne Essary of Canton, Ga.; four grandsons, Mark and David Essary, Charles Watson Ruff and Jeffrey Watson. She is also survived by five great-granddaughters and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Charles A. Watson and a sister, Joyce O'Hara.

She worked at John J. Pershing Medical Center for 35 years and upon retirement continued to volunteer there until her move to Georgia in 2015. She had served on the board of directors of the Federal Credit Union for several years, was a former Altrusa member, member of Auxiliary of Poplar Bluff Medical Center and a member of Rebekah Lodge 41. She attended South Poplar Bluff General Baptist Church.

Visitation is at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, 7-9 p.m. and gravesite service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 at New Hope Cemetery, Pollard, Ark. with Rev. Steve Winberry officiating.
