The 26th Annual Festival of Lights Auto Tour will be held in the Redman Creek East Campground at Wappapello Lake. The event is scheduled to begin Nov. 23 and will run through Dec. 30. The Festival of Lights will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights from dusk until 9 p.m. until Dec. 16, when it opens on a nightly basis until closing Dec. 30.

This event is held in partnership with the Wappapello Lake Area Association (WLAA), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and River Radio. With the support of local businesses, volunteers, churches, and other organizations within the community. It is anticipated that this year's event will be bigger and better than ever.

Those wishing to participate in this free event are encouraged to contact the Wappapello Lake Project Office and register for a campsite to decorate. Decorators can begin their work starting Nov. 9 and are asked to have it completed by Nov. 21 at 5 p.m.

Organizers said, "With your help we can make this year's event the best it has ever been. Make plans to be a part of this year's event."

If you have questions or comments, call the Wappapello Lake Project Office at (573) 222-8562 and ask to talk to Park Rangers Andrew Jefferson or Becky Hays.
