Elliot finished with a time of 17 minutes, 58.38 seconds for nearly a 28-second margin of victory. VIBURNUM -- Wyatt Elliot paced the East Carter boys cross country team with a first-place finish in the Black River League Conference Meet Saturday. Elliot finished with a time of 17 minutes, 58.38 seconds for nearly a 28-second margin of victory.

Drake Epperson also finished in the top 10 for the Redbirds with a time of 19:24.18, good for seventh. Kyren West earned a top-15 finish for East Carter with a time of 19:48.31. Isaac Thompson placed 18th at 20:07.16. Braxton Walker, Colby Duckett and Levi Boyer placed 21st, 22nd and 24th, respectively, giving East Carter seven runners in the top 25 and earning the team a first-place finish overall. Ashten Hayman placed 38th at 21:37.47. Conner Sullivan clocked 22:33.46 for 46th. Sean Sullivan finished in 25:35.61, Brett O'dell earned a 25:48.57, and John Littell clocked 26:42.88 to round out the Redbird runners.

Kadance Reynolds earned the highest finish for the girls varsity Redbirds, placing 12th at 24:35.29. Jaci Douglas earned a 26:09.59 to finish 22nd. Rylee O'dell finished in 26:41.39 to place 27th. Payton Golden ran 28:18.59 for the 38th spot, and Audrey Carter recorded 29:39.37 to finish 45th.

The Ellington girls took home first place in the team standings with the help of Grace Lloyd, who finished second with a time of 22:13.22. Morgan Rains placed 13th at 24:53.14, and Tyler Conkright wasn't far behind in 16th with a time of 25:26.42. Natalie Barnett and Hannah Fitzgerald finished 18th and 20th with respective times of 25:42.27 and 25:44.03. Every runner for the Ellington girls finished in the top 20 to help take home the team win.

Carson McNail led the Ellington boys runners in eighth place with a time of 19:25.50. Logan Loyd clocked 20:47.78, good for 29th. Justin Dane, Josh Buford and Colton Hart finished back-to-back-to-back in the standings at 62nd, 63rd and 64th.

For the Clearwater boys, Jacob Cheney finished 15th with a time of 19:50.57. Ty Silvester earned a spot in the top 50 with his 21:54.48 finish. Trenton Miller did the same in 48th at 22:47.97. Brendan Edwards placed 65th with his time of 24:55.07.

Fatih Hoppe and Laci Brown led the charge for the Clearwater girls, finishing 39th and 50th with respective times of 28:37.02 and 33:05.23.

Advance 12, Bloomfield 1

Gus Garner struck out a dozen on the mound and allowed just three hits in six innings of work as Advance ran away from Bloomfield (0-14) late. Noah Sauceda and Baylor Long produced much of the scoring for Advance (8-6), each tallying three runs scored. Long also earned a pair of RBIs and had a double on the day.

East Carter 15,

Woodland 0, 3 inn

East Carter (12-3) trailed throughout almost all of its game against Arcadia Valley (10-4). The Tigers took a 9-6 lead into the seventh inning, but the Redbirds scored six in their final offensive side to steal a win. Matt Mclean and Lane Chilton led the way for East Carter with two hits apiece, while Chilton paced the team with three RBIs

Greenville 6, Puxico 0

Keith Eudaley and Jack Becker recorded two hits each to help power Greenville (8-5) past Puxico. Becker drove in two runs to go along with his hits, and Alex Hicks drove in a pair on one hit to share the team lead in RBIs. Eudaley led the way with a pair of runs scored as Greenville put up four in the first inning and cruised to the finish.

South Pemiscot 5,

Neelyville 3

Blake Homilt drove in four of South Pemiscot's (9-5) five runs on the day with two hits as the Bulldogs broke a tie with Neelyville (2-12) and took control in the fifth inning. Noah Willingham struck out six on the mound in four innings of work.
