Edward Leo Hicks II, 75, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. died Friday, Sept. 7, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 29, 1943 in Poplar Bluff to the late Edward Hicks I and Mildred O. Myrant Hicks. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a high priest of the church.

Edward married Joyce D. Sparks April 30, 1962 in Poplar Bluff. She survives.

He worked in the parts department for Duckett Truck Center. He enjoyed photography, old records, and sci-fi movies. He was inspirational to all he met by setting an example of patience and care.

Besides his wife, he is also survived by three sons, Edward Hicks III, Eric Hicks, and Jared Hicks (Christy), all of Poplar Bluff; one daughter, Linda Hicks Pitt (Carmen) of Fruita, Colo.; one brother, Don Hicks (Deborah) of Poplar Bluff; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2018 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The funeral will follow at noon. The Bishop Steve Richardson will officiate. Burial will be at New Oak Hill Cemetery.
