Betty Carolyn Harris, 92, of Poplar Bluff, passed away on Monday, Sept. 3, 2018 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
She was born on July 30, 1926 to Robert and Minnie (Rogers) Neely in Jonesboro, Ark. On Feb. 19, 1945, she married John "Gene" Harris in Jonesboro, Ark. After moving to Poplar Bluff she worked for Smiley Container Corporation.
She was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff and President of Methodist Women's Association. The most important aspect of her life was her family.
Betty is survived by her three children, Barbara Harris of St. Louis, Mo., Nancy Dickens of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and John (Judith) Harris of Dallas, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Shannon Patterson, Tony Hawkins, Leslie Krieger, Lori Porzenski, Neely Eisenstein, Sydney Eisenstein, Kellie Fichter, T.J. Shannon, Chloe Hennen, Natalie Wages, and Lauren Harris; and 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and eight siblings.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Moore Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2018 in the Moore Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor JC Bryant officiating. Burial will take place in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
