The Puxico Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 7822 will sponsor the Miss Puxico Contest Aug. 14 at 8 p.m. (or immediately following the Little Miss Puxico) in the Puxico Veterans Park during the 71st Puxico VFW Homecoming.
The contestant is open to all girls age 16 to seniors in high school. All contestants must be 16 years old before Aug. 1st. Contestants must be registered for classes at Puxico R-8 School for the 2018 fall term at the time of registration. The parents of all contestants must be residents of the Puxico R-8 School District for at least three months prior to the registration deadline. Contestants must never have been married, and shall not be a parent or presently pregnant.
Registration will be held Thursday, July 19, 9 a.m.-noon and 6 p.m.-8 p.m; Tuesday, July 24, 1-4 p.m.; Thursday, July 26, 1-4 & 6-8. in the Puxico VFW Hall. Parents must accompany the contestant to registration. No registration forms will be allowed to leave the registration site for signatures. When registering for the contests, birth certificates, or proof of birth from a hospital must be presented. No late registrations will be allowed. The registration fee is $10.
Miss Puxico will receive a $100 cash prize & her entry fee for the Miss Stoddard County contest will also be paid by the Puxico VFW Post 7822.
