PUXICO, Mo. -- Rev. Dayna Zoll-Cookson of Puxico went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 9, 2018 at her home surrounded by family at the age of 41 years.
Dayna was born Nov. 26, 1976 at Poplar Bluff, Mo. and had lived in Dudley, Dexter, New Mexico, St. Louis and Puxico. She graduated from Puxico High School in 1995, attended Three Rivers Community College, SLCC and acquired her Master of Arts degree from Lindenwood University in 2011 in Counseling.
She worked for the Puxico Press, Daily American Republic, was a former intern Library manager at SLCC, former counselor at Birthright, former Substance Abuse Counselor at Southeast Behavioral Health and was currently at Bootheel Counseling Services as a Children's Community Support Supervisor and pastored at the Puxico First United Methodist Church and Fairview Methodist Church. She was active in Relay for Life, and published author of "Mosaic: A Collection of Poems About My Life." She loved being a help to family, friends and the community.
On Nov. 30, 2002, she married the love of her life, Thom Cookson at Winter Wonderland in Tilles Park in St. Louis. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her father, Gary Zoll; two brothers, Trent (Alexis) Stafford and Travis Stafford, all of Puxico; two nieces, Riley and Reagan; and other family and friends also survive.
Visitation was Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Life Chapel Assembly of God. The funeral service was Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Life Chapel Assembly of God. Rev. Tom Zych and Rev. Glenn Epps to officiate. Interment will be in the Puxico City Cemetery.
