CORNING, Ark. -- Cecil Dale Cooper, 73, of Poplar Bluff passed away Friday, June 15, 2018, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. Cooper was born Oct. 16, 1944, in Corning. He was a salesman at Napa Auto Tire & Parts and sold auto parts at various locations in the Poplar Bluff area for 50 years. He enjoyed selling auto parts, Cardinal baseball, traveling and spending time with his family. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and attended House of Prayer in Corning.
On Dec. 23, 1966, he married Janet Lee Pierce. She preceded him in death Aug. 13, 2016.
Survivors include his special niece, Michele (Keith) Ingram of Corning; brother, Jerold Cooper of Piggott; sisters, Naomi Housdan, Ruth Cavitt, Mary Hoover, Alice Ferguson and Anna Pritchard, all of Corning; and grandchildren Toby, Amber and Taylor Ingram.
In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Daniel and Samantha Gertrude (Hart) Cooper, and brother, James Cooper.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. today at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jimmy McMasters officiating. Burial will be at Corning Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Divine, Mitch Mitchell, Donald Cash, Rick Helton, Jimmy Martin and Charles Blackmon. Honorary pallbearer is Jerry Sneathern.
