GREENVILLE, Mo. -- Phillip Darrell Shrum, 43, of Trinidad, Colo., formerly of Greenville and Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 16, 1974, in Poplar Bluff, to Roberta Jo Shrum.

Phillip was a loving father, brother and uncle. He was of the Baptist faith. In his younger childhood years, Phillip lived in Greenville, before his family moved to Poplar Bluff, where he was a 1995 graduate. In his late twenties, he moved to Trinidad, where he worked as a cook in various restaurants throughout his career, however, he was passionate about his family, fishing, watching football and NASCAR.

In addition to his mother, Phillip was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rosco and Bertha L. (Crites) Shrum.

He is survived by his 10-year-old twin daughters, Hailey and Kayley Shrum of Canton, Ga.; one brother, Will "Billy" Gottstein and fiancé, Sara Herzog, of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Cynthia "Cindy" (Gottstein) and husband, Josh, Sellars of Trinidad; nieces and nephews include, Matthew and Ethan Hanna and Jael Sellars, all of Trinidad; great-aunt, Sylvia Montoya, also of Trinidad. Phillip will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. today at Ruegg Funeral Home in Greenville. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Crossroads Baptist Church near Greenville. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com.
