NEW MADRID, Mo. -- Kendrick Gordon got an overtime win against an opponent he had split two previous matches with Tuesday night as the Poplar Bluff wrestling team won a pair of matches.
The Mules had 11 pins and were put on their back just once while losing one other match in beating host New Madrid Central 51-18 and Cape Central 53-22.
"We needed to get pins," Mules coach Kelton Thompson said. "Got a lot of bonus-point victories."

Garrett McClure got a pin in each of his 138-pound matches, needing just 43 seconds against the Eagles. John Smothers got a pin against the Tigers and earned a forfeit win at 170 pounds as did Josh Lawrinenko at 145 and Kade Richardson at 132.
Drew Dugas, Quinten Bell and Gordon each won both of their matches with a pin and a decision. Tanner Dunivan won his 195-pound match against the Tigers with a pin.
Gordon had lost his heavyweight match with New Madrid Central's Jay Maltbia in the conference tournament 5-3 but Tuesday night featured no takedowns. Both escaped from the bottom position to end regulation tied 1-1. Following a scoreless sudden-victory overtime, Gordon escaped the bottom position but couldn't keep Maltbia from doing the same.
In the tiebreaker, Gordon escaped from the bottom position for a 3-2 overtime win.
Also against the Eagles, Wyatt Lazalier got a pin at 220 pounds at 5 minutes, 10 seconds. Bell's pin came with a minute remaining while Dugas got a pin at 2:39.
Bell won his 126-pound match against the Tigers 10-3 while Austin Aubuchon and Dugas earned major decisions. Aubuchon won his 152-pound match 15-1 while Dugas won 11-3.
Lazalier lost 14-5 against the Tigers.
The Mules travel Friday to Logan-Rogersville to end the regular season.
