Ada (Shirrell) Tripp, age 95, died after a long illness on December 18, 2017.
Ada was a wonderful example of faith, service and love. A longtime member of Little Brushy Baptist Church in Wappapello, MO, a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Wappapello, MO, and most recently a member of Black River Baptist Church in Broseley, MO.
Throughout her life she was dedicated to teaching Sunday school for hundreds of children which spanned over 50 years. She delighted in feeding her family, neighbors and those in need. Ada worked for several years at the Nutrition Center in Fisk, MO. Most recently she was known as the sock lady for Project Outreach, serving the poor of Fayette County, TN.
She is survived by her daughter Lona (Neil) Sharpe; doting grandmother of Elizabeth Sharpe; lifelong friend and sister-in-law, Freda (John) Phillips; and several nieces, nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Tripp; granddaughter Kathleen Sharpe; and her siblings, Harrison (Pearl) Phillips; Edgar (Lois) Phillips, John Phillips, Ruth (Fred) Osborn, Lula (Richard) Wright, and George (Ovella) Shirrell; and several nieces.
Visitation will be from noon -1 p.m. on Saturday, February 3 at Moore Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff.
Memorial services will be immediately following visitation at 1 p.m. in the Moore Funeral Service Chapel. A private family grave side service will be held at a later date.
