Gene and Pat Stamps of Poplar Bluff, Mo., will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Monday, Jan. 8, 2018.
The couple married Jan. 8, 1953 in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
They had six children: Carolyn Chappell and Karen Stamps, who are deceased, Danny Stamps, Randy Stamps, Lisa Trainor and Sandy Griffin. 10 grandchildren, 11 great--grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Gene retired from Whiteley's Auto Parts and then became an OTR Truck driver until about two years ago. Pat retired from Lucy Lee Hospital. She was a scrub nurse and head of sterile supply in the surgery department.
They attend Family Worship Center in Poplar Bluff, where they sing and Pat plays the piano. Pat was the piano player and sang with the Living Way Trio for several decades along with Bonnie Goins and MaryLou McPherson.
Family members said, "They pretty much go to church and stay home with their dog Dusty, they enjoy spending time with family as well, as they are in their early to mid eighties."
