For many people, Christmas is a bittersweet time of the year. A time for remembering both persons and events which have been important in their lives. Life offers changes; many are sad and challenging. This is the time of the year with the longest night. Lake Wappapello UMC offers a quiet, meditative worship service which allows time for reflection, a space to be open to God and to be still in preparation for the coming of Jesus.
Lake Wappapello United Methodist Church is located at 2930 Hwy. D, 2 1/2 miles north of the dam after the end of Hwy. T. It is 17 1/2 miles south of Greenville.
Everyone is invited to come by between 5 - 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, to be loved and to pause in reflection, silence, healing, prayer, soft music and communion. Come. Be still. Light a candle. Pray. Take communion. Have your heart warmed in God's presence.
Isiah 40: 1, 3: "Comfort, comfort my people, says your God . . . A voice of one calling: 'In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord.'"
