South Central Missouri Community Action Agency (SCMCAA) is providing a free open enrollment event in Poplar Bluff. The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at SCMCAA's new location, 1800 South Broadway, Poplar Bluff. South Central Missouri Community Action Agency (SCMCAA) is providing a free open enrollment event in Poplar Bluff. The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at SCMCAA's new location, 1800 South Broadway, Poplar Bluff.

According to SCMCAA Program Director Cindy Bridges, "If you do not have health insurance through your employer, spouse, Medicaid, Medicare, CHIP, Tricare, COBRA or another qualifying plan, the Marketplace is where you can shop for health coverage. Nov. 1 was the first day to participate in open enrollment for 2018 health plans. There is a much shorter enrollment period this year. The last day to enroll is Dec. 15, 2017.

SCMCAA will have licensed and certified health insurance navigators and counselors to assist folks who currently are uninsured, need to reenroll, or perhaps just have questions concerning how to obtain coverage.

Interested persons are encouraged to register prior to the event by calling (573) 325-4255 or (573) 785-4727 ext. 10. Other dates and times are also available for appointments if necessary. They may also email Bridges @ cjbridges@scmcaa.org
