Virginia (Binkley) Jones Guard, 88, of Poplar Bluff, departed this life, Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017.

Virginia was the daughter of Neelie and Elsie (Weatherholt) Binkley of Campbell. She graduated high school with honors from Qulin, and spent most of her adult life in Poplar Bluff. Virginia was of the Catholic faith. She worked as office manager for Porter-Dewitt Construction Company for 36 years, from where she retired. Virginia was the first President of the charter Eagle's Arie 3730 Auxiliary of Poplar Bluff in 1976 and continued to work and serve diligently for nearly 40 years. She also had been a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Virginia was especially fond of growing flowers, entertaining, cooking, reading and showing love to her family and friends. She was a fun-loving, energetic, generous and gracious lady who was loved by many.

Survivors include her son, Donald Jones, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Jones; grandson, Dr. Donnie Jones; great-grandchildren: Landon Jones, Lillianne Jones and Laynie Jones; brother-in-law, Doughlan Jones; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; several step-adult children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Donald Jones; second husband Cledous (Junior) Guard; and her sister Francis (Binkley) Hefner Craft.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Jason Jordan will officiate. Interment will be at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
