Join the Mingo National Wildlife Refuge staff Friday, Nov. 17, for a free, fun, and educational program about fascinating bats at the Visitor Center, located at 24279 State Highway 51, Puxico, Mo.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., followed by a presentation at 7 p.m. Learn about bat life history, current and previous research at Mingo and Pilot Knob National Wildlife Refuges, and field survey methods and equipment. After the presentation, there will be an optional night hike where participants have the opportunity to get hands-on experience using bat tracking equipment. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring a flashlight or headlamp if you have one.
