An 82-year-old Williamsville, Mo., woman died Tuesday night after being involved in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. 67 and Highway W.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, at about 9:45 p.m. Constance M. Woodring was operating a northbound 2001 Ford Taurus, which was entering the intersection and struck a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix being driven southbound by Adam P. Woodard, 17, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Woodring was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 10:28 p.m. by a doctor there. She is the 44th fatality in Troop E this year.
Woodard suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.
Poplar Bluff firefighters responded to the scene and upon their arrival were directed to Woodring's car, where she reportedly was unconscious and slouching in the passenger seat.
After trying to open the passenger door, firefighters reportedly found it was locked and subsequently removed the rear passenger window to unlock the other door.
Firefighters checked Woodring for a pulse, but were unable to find one.
When emergency-medical-services personnel arrived, they also checked Woodring for a pulse, but did find one.
Firefighters subsequently assisted in removing Woodring from her vehicle, as well as assisted EMS in the ambulance by continuing CPR en route to the hospital.
While on the scene, firefighters also assisted EMS in loading Woodard for transport to the hospital.
As part of the patrol's crash investigation, member(s) of its Major Crash Investigation Unit responded to reconstruct the accident.
