CLEARWATER -- Fynnegan Cooper blasted a home run and Trey Rivas tripled as the Clearwater baseball team beat Lesterville 13-2 in five innings Tuesday.
Cooper was 2 for 3 with four RBIs and run scored. Jackson Eaton drove in three runs, Jesse Holmes knocked in five and five other players recorded a hit for Clearwater (7-1), which finished with seven.
Rivas struck out seven and only allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits in 3 1/3 innings to get the win. Cooper pitched a scoreless 1 2/3 innings with a strikeout.
East Carter 18, Bloomfield 8
Cody Hampton, Dalton Rudd and Jordan Douglas each homered as the Redbirds took down the Wildcats in six innings at home.
Five players had multiple hit for East Carter (9-3) as Hampton, Jake Andrews, Wyatt Elliot, Colby Miller and Lane Chilton each doubled.
SOFTBALL
East Carter 9, Alton 2
Bailey Gargac and Brooklyn Loftis smacked doubles and drove in runs as the Lady Redbirds walloped the Comets at home.
Leadoff hitter Naomi Crowley was 3 for 4 with a walk and three runs scored. Loftis went 2 for 2 with two RBIs, Maddyson Holloway was 2 for 3 with an RBI and Makenna Moore helped herself with a hit and two RBIs for East Carter (7-6).
Moore also struck out eight, walked two and gave up five hits in a complete game win in the circle.
West Plains 15, Van Buren 5, 6 innings
Logan Crafton and Sydnee Sanders each doubled and scored but it wasn't enough in the Lady Dawgs' road loss to the Zizzers.
Morgan Shockley went 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored while Courtney Tripp was 1 for 3 with two RBIs.
Crafton was 2 for 3 and Jennifer Morey added a hit, an RBI and a run scored for Van Buren (9-4).
Sikeston 4, Neelyville 2
Megan Witt held the Tigers to four hits as the Bulldogs eked out a road win.
Neelyville (3-7) got two hits from Emily Dollins, including a double. Payton Reinbott was tagged with the pitching loss.
Kelly 16, Twin Rivers 2
Kenzi Koepp hit a double and drove in two runs, as the Hawks walloped the Royals in five innings on the road.
Bella Galloway went 2 for 2 and took the loss for Twin Rivers (1-8). Anny Hester was 2 for 3 while Kaitlin Dken and Madison Lampe each drove in a run.
VOLLEYBALL
Twin Rivers 2, Charleston 0 (25-9, 25-15)
Katelyn South nailed 14 kills and added 14 digs to lead the Lady Royals past the Bluejays at home.
Brooke Blume chipped in four kills and 10 digs, Catey Hester had 15 digs and Katie Baxter added three kills and two blocks for Twin Rivers (11-3-1).
