ELLSINORE -- Makenna Moore tossed a no-hitter and Shelby Cyr hit a grand slam as the East Carter softball team blasted East Prairie 11-0 Tuesday.
Moore struck out two and walked one in the five-inning victory. She was also 1 for 2 with an RBI. Maddyson Holloway went 3 for 3 with three runs scored and an RBI while Brooklyn Loftis, Audrey Carter and Naomi Crowley each went 2 for 3 for East Carter (2-3).
Kelly 14, Naylor 0
The Hawks sprayed 13 hits and handed the host Lady Eagles their first loss of the season.
Kelly Ivy led their offense with three hits, including a double, and one RBI. Hailey Noon added a double, a triple and four RBIs, while Alyssa Moore and Kenzi Koepp each chipped in a double and one RBI.
Ivy struck out two and gave up two hits in the final two innings against Naylor, which stands at 4-1.
BASEBALL
East Carter 12, South Iron 2
The Redbirds scattered 11 hits including six doubles and rolled to their third run-rule victory of the season at home.
Dalton Rudd and Jake Andrews doubled twice while Jordan Douglas and Wyatt Elliot hit one apiece. Matt McLean drove in three runs with a single and Colby Miller had two RBIs for East Carter (6-2).
Douglas struck out two, walked four and allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits to get the win on the mound.
Bernie 10, Advance 5
Nate Dillinger pitched 4 2/3 innings in the win and allowed two runs for Bernie (6-0). Dalton Hobgood had three hits and four RBIs while Dillinger added two hits and three RBIs.
Bernie 8, Bell City 0
Gavin Brown allowed one hit in the complete game shutout for Bernie (7-0). Brown had nine strikeouts and one walk. Dalton Hobgood had three hits and a triple and three RBIs. Nate Dillinger also had a triple and two hits. Blake Beacham also had two hits.
Puxico 4, Bloomfield 2
Kasen Barnfield pitched a complete-game win for Puxico and allowed five hits and a walk with eight strikeouts.
Dalton Phillips gave up three hits, a walk and a hit batter over six innings in the loss. Alden Love was 2 for 3 at the plate for Bloomfield while Dustin Debeaux had two RBIs.
Clearwater 11, Naylor 0
Heath Ayers and Finn Cooper combined on a two-hit shutout as the Tigers picked up an Ozark Foothills Conference win against the Eagles at home and stayed undefeated.
Ayers started and struck out two in four innings, giving up the only two hits. Cooper added two more strikeouts and a walk in a scoreless fifth inning.
Ayers also doubled and finished with two RBIs while Jesse Holmes drove in three and went 3 for 3. Tanner Wilkins and Karson Fay each added two RBIs for Clearwater (4-0, 2-0 OFC).
Landon Elledge and Chance Smith had the only two hits for Naylor (1-6, 0-2)
Neelyville 18, Greenville 6
Wyatt Moon doubled twice and finished with six RBIs while Matt Dollins homered to lead the Tigers in a drubbing of the Bears on the road.
Moon was 3 for 5 at the plate while Noah Burton added a double and scored twice. Tyler Lowe walked once, had two RBIs and scored three runs for Neelyville (4-2, 1-1 OFC).
Jack Becker doubled and drove in two runs and Wyatt Hicks was 2 for 3 with an RBI for Greenville (0-1, 0-1).
VOLLEYBALL
Twin Rivers 2, Doniphan 0 (25-16, 25-15)
Hannah Finley slammed nine kills and Catey Hester had 25 digs as the Royals beat the Donettes at home.
Brooke Blume added seven kills and two blocks, Hannah Phillips had an ace and 18 assists, and Katelyn South chipped in four aces, five kills and 10 digs for Twin Rivers (3-1).
Malden 2, New Madrid Central 0
(25-13, 27-25)
Madilyn Earnheart and Lexi Campbell both had 14 hits as the Green Wave moved to 4-0.
Lana Reed chipped in four complete blocks and Lydia Harris had 23 set assists.
Bloomfield 2, Richland 0 (25-9, 25-4)
Kaley roper had seven aces as the Lady Wildcats (3-0) comfortably beat Richland on Tuesday.
Bailey Below added three aces, two blocks and eight kills. Jewel Chism had six aces and four kills. Both Cayla Mayberry and Lilly Warrick had three kills while setter Nicole Roper finished with 17 assists.
