BLOOMFIELD -- The Bloomfield Lady Wildcats show their true power during their first home match of the season Monday evening.
Bloomfield got multiple kills from four different players in sweeping Twin Rivers 25-6, 25-13.
"I work hard and I love to hit," said Bloomfield's Jewel Chism who led with five kills.
"We came into this first home game with anxiety but once we started, we really showed what we can do."
Bloomfield's Bailey Below produced three successful kills to open the match followed by two offensive errors from Twin Rivers to give the Lady Wildcats a 5-0 lead.
Twin Rivers' Katelyn South, who finished with 18 digs, four kills and a block, gave the Lady Royals their first point of the match with a kill on the ensuing volley.
Leading 7-4, Bloomfield's powerhouse hitter and All-State player, Chism, sent the fire pulling out three heavy hitting kills, one after another assisted by Nicole Roper, who ended with 15 assists.
"(Chism) is little but she can jump out of the gym when she goes to hit," Bloomfield coach Haley Silman said, "Jewel's is defiantly one of our go-to hitters when she's on the front row."
The Lady Wildcats eventually pulled further ahead, 15-4, forcing Twin Rivers into their first timeout. Chism, still could not be stopped as she recorded another three kills accompanied by two kills from Cayla Mayberry ending the first set 25-6.
Chism opened the second game with an ace but the Lady Royals fought back tying the game 3-3. But Bloomfield pulled ahead, 8-5, before Chism ripped two more kills to pull away.
The Lady Wildcats continued to widen the lead as they pulled ahead 13-5 on a kill by Mayberry, who had three kills and a block for another.
Twin Rivers rallied, producing multiple hard-hitting spikes but Bloomfield's Nicole Roper executed three consecutive digs denying Twin Rivers of any kills.
Kaley Roper led the Wildcats with eight digs.
The Royals start to close the gap, getting within 14-9, but the Lady Wildcats answered back with three kills and an ace to push their lead to 18-11.
Below had four kills, three aces and two digs for the Wildcats. Lilly Warrick had three kills, two digs and a block for a kill.
Catey Hester finished with 20 digs and Britni Wyrick had 14 for Twin Rivers (). Hannah Phillips and Brooke Blume each had three kills while Hannah Phillips added six assists and three digs.
"The girls turned it on and they did what they know they can do," Silman said. "The game went really (well) and I am very happy with the outcome."
Bloomfield, which won the junior varsity game 25-12, 25-11, is back in action Tuesday against Richland while Twin Rivers plays rival Doniphan.
