FISK, Mo. -- Rev. Irvin Harold Carr, 80, of Poplar Bluff, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017 at his residence in Poplar Bluff.

Rev. Carr was born June 18, 1937 in Qulin, son of the late Ralph and Irena (Gibson) Carr. He had worked at General Motors Chevrolet Plant in St. Louis for 30 years and served as the Recording Secretary for UAW retirees from Feb. 19, 1998 until 2016. On April 4, 1996 Irvin was ordained a General Baptist Minister at the South Van Buren General Baptist Church. He currently is a member of the Fellowship General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Carr cared about family and friends and enjoyed playing music with his friends, working on the farm, repairing machinery, camping, hunting and fishing.

On Sept. 16, 1955. he married Opal Metcalf. She preceded him in death, Jan. 3, 2005. On May 28, 2005 he married Murl Kearby Kendrick. She preceded him in death, Feb. 2, 2009. On July 23, 2010, he married Janet Wallace. She survives.

Also surviving are one son: Ronald I. Carr and wife, Kimberly; one brother: James Carr; one granddaughter: Jillian Baer and husband, Matthew; and one great-grandson: Jason Baer. He was also preceded in death by one brother: Bill Carr and one grandson: Jason Carr.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Qulin. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017 in the funeral home chapel in Qulin with Rev. Bill Orr officiating. Burial will be in Qulin Cemetery at Qulin.
