In the midst of remodeling a facility to help better the lives of area women, the Recycling Grace Ministries had items taken from their property.

"For someone to come along and steal from us when we are working so hard is sad," Recycling Grace Ministries CEO Sandra Mick said.

According to Mick, a 1951 Chambers antique stove and small refrigerator were moved out of a property the group is remodeling in the 700 block of Kinzer Street so tile could be laid.

Mick said the stove and a small refrigerator were placed outside, under the carport.

According to Mick, the items were reported missing sometime between Saturday evening, Aug. 19, and Sunday morning, Aug. 20.

Mick described the stove as red with two small doors on the front and added it is "very heavy," estimating about 500 pounds. The half sized refrigerator is silver with a black handle.

"We were hoping to sell the stove and buy materials for the remodeling," Mick said.

Recycling Grace Ministries is working to renovate a property into a six bed facility for women coming off addiction.

Mick said if anyone locates the items or has any information to contact the Poplar Bluff Police Department at 573-785-5776 or by contacting Mick at the Recycling Grace Women's Center by calling 573-686-3333.

"If the stove is returned to the property, no questions will be asked by anyone," Mick said. "We will just be thankful it's returned."
