Marion Don Moffitt, 70, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Mo. He was born May 23, 1947 to Henry and Vera (Young) Moffitt in Pollard, Ark. He graduated from Qulin High School in 1965. After graduation he enlisted in the United State Air Force during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged after several years of service. ...

Marion Don Moffitt, 70, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Mo.

He was born May 23, 1947 to Henry and Vera (Young) Moffitt in Pollard, Ark. He graduated from Qulin High School in 1965. After graduation he enlisted in the United State Air Force during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged after several years of service. Don worked as a Track Foreman for Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement in 1998. On Nov. 20, 1965, he married Judith Siebert at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Glennonville, Mo.

Don loved crappie fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poplar Bluff.

Don is survived by his loving spouse of 51 years, Judith Moffitt; two sons, Michael (Leonda) Moffitt and Steven (Paula) Moffitt; four grandchildren, Sommer Moffitt, Morgan Moffitt, Jordyn Moffitt and Justin Moffitt; one great-grandson, Koby McCain; two special nieces, Courtney Littrell, Amanda Littrell, all of Poplar Bluff; and many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Henrietta Siebert and one brother, Ronnie Moffitt.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2017 and Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at Moore Funeral Service in Poplar Bluff. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poplar Bluff followed by burial at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
