FISK, Mo. -- Trennis Lee Stearns, 91 of Fisk, died Tuesday May 10, 2017 at Westwood Hills Health Care in Poplar Bluff. Mr. Stearns was born Dec. 28, 1925 in Poe, Mo., son of the late William O. and Ruby Marie (Hartle) Stearns. He served in the Army during WW II serving in Italy. He was retired from S. & H Auto Parts. He loved to gardening and yard work, reading his Bible and working Seek & Find puzzles. He married Mary Elizabeth Schall, Aug. 24, 1946. She preceded him in death Dec. 8, 1977.
He married Shelby Gene Taylor, March 24, 1978. She survives. Also surviving are a sister: Reva Irene "Tote" Beaird and husband Wes of Poe; four brothers-in-law: Everett Taylor and wife Janie of Benton, Mo., J.D Taylor and wife Pam of Troy, Mo., David Taylor and wife Glenda of Billings, Mont., and Gerald Taylor of California, Mo., and two sisters-in-law: Lorell Scott and husband Ron of Babcock, Wis., and Leatha Sanford and husband Don of Doniphan. He was also preceded in death by one brother: Lyndell "Short" Stearns.
Visitation will be from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m., Friday at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with Rev. Kenny King officiating.
