The Bloomfield Wildcats and a pair of area golfers punched their ticket to the MSHSAA championship tournament Monday.
Nathan Woolard of Poplar Bluff advanced as an individual in Class 4, as did Dexter's Spencer Warren in Class 3 while the Wildcats placed second at the Class 1 Sectional tournament to advance as a team.
Woolard tied for 21st at the Class 4 sectional at The Landings at Spirit Golf Club in Chesterfield. The junior shot 6-over-par 78 for his third straight trip to the state tournament. Senior teammate Justin Capps shot 80 to tie for 28th, missing the state cut by two shots.
"Our sectional is probably the toughest," Mules coach Billy Pyland said. "A lot of great players."
Reilly Ahearn of Ladue tied a state record with a 7-under 65 to earn medalist honors. It matched Brent Outersky's 1999 7-under round while two others finished under par and two more were at even-par 72 on the 6,406-yard course.
Chaminade's 289 was one stroke off the state record round for a team on a par-72 course. SLUH shot 294 to take the other state-qualifying spot. Vianney, the District 1 champion, was fifth, one shot behind Mehlville, the District 1 runner-up.
Pyland said large, undulating greens meant approach shots and lag putts were important.
At Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course in Springfield, Bloomfield shot 367 to beat Crystal City by 10 shots for the final team qualifying spot. Greenwood shot 327 to also advance.
Peyton Bell shot 8-over-par 78 to place fifth and lead the Wildcats. Brant Hobbs shot 88 to tie for 13th, Holden Duckworth's 92 tied for 18th while Dustin Debeaux tied for 32nd at 103. Levi CLary was 42nd at 118 for Bloomfield.
Advance's Carson Miles also made the cut, tying for 13th, at 89.
Crystal City's Tyler Andrews earned medalist honors at even-par 70 but Bloomfield had three players finish in the top 18, ahead of the No. 2 score for the Hornets.
The Wildcats and Miles advance to play at Silo Ridge Country Club in Bolivar in the two-day, 36-hole tournament starting Monday.
Woolard will play at Twin Hills Golf & Country Club in Joplin while Warren heads to the Sedalia Country Club.
Warren placed 14th with an 11-over 83 at Crown Pointe Golf Course in Farmington. The freshman's round featured one birdie on No. 15 before a par-bogey-bogey finish.
"He really handled himself well today," Dexter coach Eric Sitze said. "He stayed away from the high numbers, was steady all day."
Brandon Wagner of Park Hills Central and Farmington's Nicholas Westrich earned medalist honors at 1-over 73.
In Class 2 at Dalhousie Country Club in Cape Girardeau, Clearwater's Brett Jackson tied for 19th at 26-over 98, missing the cut for state by a stroke. Teammate Ethan Jameson shot 109 to tie for 32nd.
Malden's Corey Prentice shot 107 for 31st while Garrett Rackley was 46th at 130.
