Jerry E. Worthy, 66, son of the late Author James Worthy and Annie Mae Melton Worthy was born on Nov. 21, 1950 in Madison, Tenn. and departed this life Thursday, April 6, 2017 at his residence in Puxico, Mo. Mr. Worthy retired from Faurecia Emissions Technologies in Dexter, Mo, affiliated with Duck Creek Baptist Church, and a veteran of the United State Army serving in the Vietnam War. Jerry E. Worthy, 66, son of the late Author James Worthy and Annie Mae Melton Worthy was born on Nov. 21, 1950 in Madison, Tenn. and departed this life Thursday, April 6, 2017 at his residence in Puxico, Mo.

Mr. Worthy retired from Faurecia Emissions Technologies in Dexter, Mo, affiliated with Duck Creek Baptist Church, and a veteran of the United State Army serving in the Vietnam War. Jerry was a member of the National Wildlife Turkey Federation, Puxico V.F.W. and Mingo Men's Ministry Team.

He was united in marriage to Belinda Landers on Dec. 23, 1978 in Sikeston. Mrs. Worthy survives of the home in Puxico.

Besides his wife, survivors include two sons, Adam Worthy and Blake Worthy of Puxico; five brothers, Harold Worthy, Roy Worthy, Roger Worthy, Richard Worthy, and Larry Worthy; five sisters, Mary Ditto, Joyce Wallace, Eva Williams, Brenda Dozier, and Dottie Russell; also three grandchildren, Kynley Worthy, Andrea Clark and Audrie Clark.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Worthy and Roger Wayne Worthy; by three sister Rebecca Garret, Patsy Conlin, and Shirley Eye.

Memorial services were conducted Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Duck Creek Baptist Church. Buck Cruse and Dusty Stroud officiated. Burial followed in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors.
